Birthstone chart: every month's stone and colourUpdated a month ago

Choosing a birthstone piece, or checking the stone that arrived? Here is the complete Olivia Jewelry birthstone chart. Our birthstones are crafted from AAA-grade stones in each month's traditional colour, so they keep their brilliance day after day.

A note on similar colours

A few stones are easy to mix up in person:

  • January (Garnet) vs July (Ruby): garnet is a deeper, wine-like red; ruby is brighter
  • March (Aquamarine) vs December (Blue Topaz): aquamarine is paler and softer; blue topaz is a more vivid blue
  • Ordered a June stone and it looks purple? That is correct — June's Alexandrite has a colour-shifting violet/purple character. A purple June stone is the right stone, not a mistake
  • February (Amethyst) vs June (Alexandrite): amethyst is a steady purple; alexandrite has a colour-shifting violet character

If the stone in your piece doesn't look how you expected, compare it against this chart first, then reach out with your order number and a photo if something still seems off — we will happily check it against what was ordered.

Choosing a birthstone as a gift

You select the birthstone during personalization on the product page, and most of our multi-stone pieces let you combine several months, perfect for representing children, family members, or special dates.
